Theatre West

the alma tavern

The Alma Tavern is a relaxed, informal pub in Alma Vale Road, Clifton, Bristol, a quiet backwater about five minutes walk from Clifton's lively Whiteladies Road. Owned by Julian Sarsby and James Townend, it serves well kept beer, a good range of wines and food which is anything but run-of-the-mill pub grub (think honey, soy & ginger pork chop, sweet potato, spring onion & coriander mash or butternut squash, mushroom, spinach & red lentil curry with pilau rice). When you book your tickets online at www.almataverntheatre.co.uk you can receive a 15% reduction on your main course.

Outside is a small garden for when the sun occasionally shines and upstairs is the 50 seat theatre into which you can take a drink if you wish.

During the Theatre West season you can buy your tickets (£9 / £7 concessions) online at www.almataverntheatre.co.uk, in person at the bar or on the night from the box office which opens an hour before performances. At the box office the only methods of payment we currently accept are cash or cheque.
